Well, we went to the orientation for our upcoming trip to Israel. We received our flight information and some goodies too! We even received a refund of $600!! Wooo hoooo!! I was pretty excited about that! They switched airlines and received better pricing....so we got some money back. The orientation was informative.....and the travel agent went over some of the basic stuff on traveling that most people who travel know by now.....baggage weight allowance for check in baggage on the plane, rules for the liquids that can be taken on your carry on, as well as going through airport security. She also discussed certain traditions that the people of Israel follow and how we have to be courteous, sensitive and follow those same traditions while we are there in THEIR country. One was how they don't eat meat and dairy together. She told us how a person in the past did not follow that specific tradition and brought butter from breakfast to the dinner and how they had to go through this whole cleaning process just because of what she did. Amazing!!! Just because our beliefs are different from theirs doesn't mean that we should disrespect theirs. Anyways, it was pretty interesting...she shared a few funny stories too!
So today we begin counting down. 1 month until we go on our trip. We are pretty excited now!! Now we just have to get a few things.......like outlet converters for one. All of our paperwork is in order....and we really don't have much to do. So we are pretty much good to go!!
I am trying to figure out how to make the mobile blogging work.....so I can post while I am in Israel, but I haven't got it to work yet. I will continue to mess with it. I will be keeping a journal while I am traveling and if I can't blog from my cell phone, I will blog when I get home and share some of my journal entries.
Ok, I am going to relax while I wait for the load of laundry to finish washing.
~Ciao
